Job Summary

The Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia (FFVA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to strengthening dads, healthy families and formative relationships.  Our mission educate men to be stronger husbands/co-parents and more active fathers to drive true systemic change for the Commonwealth.  We are looking to hire a Full-Time Hampton Roads area Fatherhood Coordinator to help fathers at all stages of their lives throughout Virginia by offering our programs and services at a subsidized price.  This role will report to the CEO and would be responsible for recruiting, coaching and supporting fathers looking to strengthen their relationships with their children and family.  This position will also be responsible for planning, fundraising, teaching and assisting with fatherhood programming for the organization while building partnerships throughout the state of Virginia.

Job Responsibilities

The Hampton Roads Fatherhood Coordinator will:

– Be responsible for the facilitating of our signature fatherhood programs
– Maintain records/data for each program while maintaining confidentiality and building trust
– Promote services of FFVA to the public, organizations and/or businesses
– Plan and coordinate fatherhood classes including, but not limited to New Dad 101, 24:7 Dad and Inside/Out Dad programs
– Teach, facilitate and assist with fatherhood programs sponsored by FFVA
– Build and introduce new partnerships throughout the state of VA
– Grow fatherhood program by assisting in development and fundraising efforts
– Coordinate and execute yearly fundraising event by securing attendees and sponsorships
– Recruit and train fatherhood volunteers while maintaining positive relationships
– Work closely with the CEO to ensure highest quality in programming

Job Requirements

– Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in related field
– Teaching/Mentoring/Social Program experience necessary
– Experience in the nonprofit, counseling/teaching or related field preferred
– Ability to provide programs according to the schedule of the fatherhood group
– Proficient with common computer applications and social media
– Fundraising and event planning preferred
– Live in area in which this position will be hired

Compensation and Benefits

– Full-time, exempt position with no benefits starting at $45,000

– Two weeks vacation with all national observances recognized

– Ability to work virtually, in the office with weekly travel throughout Hampton Roads and monthly trip to Richmond office
