Whether you’re a new dad, a father who needs to improve a few aspects of his relationship with his children and mother or just wanting to ensure you’re heading in the right direction, our foundation is here to make sure your future is bright.
When our men are better prepared, marriages and families are stronger. Studies tell us that by having fathers active in the life of their families, poverty & crime goes down while emotional wellness & educational success goes up. By understanding the complexity and joys of fatherhood and relationships, we help everyone we serve be more successful, which makes our state a better place to live.
New babies don’t come with owners’ manuals. For first time dads, FFVA offers this virtual class to give men the confidence they need to be a great parent and support mom. Our participants get unedited, “real talk” info straight from experienced dads. In this class, there is no such thing as a dumb question and we still don’t have all the answers. However, once they are done, they are ready to start the greatest journey of all, fatherhood.
This program is for incarcerated fathers and works to bridge the gap between the inmate father and his children. We’ve build this as a partnership effort with counties in Virginia, prisons and rehabilitation organizations to form a multifaceted approach to make a real impact connecting dads with their families and children to keep the relationships strong.
This program is for all fathers and provides dads with skills, wherever they are, to be the best dad and co-parent for their children. Whether in person or virtual, this class explores the relationship with one’s self, with their children, and their mom. In doing so, men gain valuable insight on how to move forward and be the dad his family needs him to be.
ProFathering15™ is a new online learning experience offered in partnership with the National Fatherhood Initiative containing 15 topics, each 15 minutes long, that:
– Builds pro-fathering knowledge, attitudes, and skills in an online environment.
– Engages dads visually and interactively to deliver an enjoyable user experience.
– Is “responsive,” which means it is designed for use on any device that you or a dad wants to use (i.e. desktop, tablet, or smartphone).
ProFathering15™ offers the flexibility and convenience that no fatherhood program, workshop, class, or course can offer!
FATHER Christmas is an opportunity for people in our community to nominate great dads who are taking an active role in their families that may come up short around the holidays. FFVA will choose 25 dads and provide them with presents for their children and $500 cash for them to spend anyway they need. If you know a great dad that could benefit, nominate him today.

The Father Figure is the Fatherhood Foundation of Virginia’s signature event honoring the Funding Fathers. One evening late in the summer at The Diamond, we will come together to celebrate our great dads, amazing volunteers and great corporate partners. We will also announce the winner of the title, The Father Figure!
